My profile is similar to yours, 10 years in java world, even no PHP. :-D I used Struts 1 & 2 a lot, and tested Spring MVC and JSF. Since several months I am now using GWT and it's a really interesting solution. Its best advantage is "(nearly) all in java". About ExtGWT, the framework is really good only that it's hard to skin it. But if you are ready to use the provided skins, then it's really cool. Also they are a bit in late with GWT2 but it's ok.
